I don’t know if this happens to you or not. I have my iPhone set to Silent or I have the ringtone volume turned down. Then I receive some kind of important Text Message or phone call, but I miss it because I am not aware that it occurred. There is something that can help with this in iOS called LED Flash for Alerts. Here is how to activate that.
LED Flash for Alerts
Let me give a caveat before proceeding here. The LED Flash notification feature may not be for all situations. I don’t think you want to be in an important meeting and have your iPhone flashing all over the place. I guess what I am saying is there might be certain situations where this feature may not be advisable. With that said then, let’s get into how to activate it if you think you need it.
Go into the Settings area of iOS and click on General:
Once you are in the General area scroll down and Tap on Accessibility:
There is a lot of stuff in this area. You need to scroll down and Tap on LED Flash for Alerts:
In the next screen just Toggle the slider to “On”:
You will be taken to a screen with two choices:
Now if you wanted to minimize your Flash exposure you might consider toggling one of these settings off, whichever one works for your situation.
This is not a big deal, but it may be useful to some. My wife uses the Flash on Silent feature, it seems to work well for her.
