What Are My Apple Devices?

Posted by

This is iPhone and iPad upgrade season. It comes this time every year just in time for the holidays. My wife and I are looking at upgrading our iPhones in the next few weeks. After a bit of consideration I thought I would check to see exactly what Devices Apple thinks are attached to my account. There are several ways to do this, I think the iCloud way is easiest.

Apple Devices

My iPhone plan is to trade in my iPhone 8 Plus when I get a new iPhone. When I do that I will need to remove it from my Apple Devices. That is really easy to do.

Start by logging into your iCloud account in your favorite web browser:

iCloud

Once you are logged into iCloud click on the Settings icon:

iCloud Settings

You will be taken to this information page listing your Devices along with some other information:

Devices

If there is a device in this area that you do not own anymore, click on it to get this window:

Remove Device

You can click on the Lost or Sold link or the Remove link and you will be taken through a removal process. That is all there is to it.

Conclusion

Even if you are not going to upgrade any Apple Devices in the near future, it is still a good idea to go into the iCloud Settings area to make sure your Device information is accurate.
